Inspired by the “Declaration of the Rights of the Mother Earth” passed into legislation in Bolivia in 2010. Pachamama is the name of the Mother Earth Goddess of the Inca traditions, still practiced today.
This bust is heaped with perforated egg shapes that are based on magnifications of tiny seed structures, as well as sprouting beans and leaves to convey her association with the plant world.
Earth Goddesses prevalent throughout the ancient world preside over a magical world that is lush, mysterious, and enchanting. The revival of these archaic symbols reflects a widespread concern for the future and calls for the restoration of traditional wisdom that respects Mother Nature.
