Lost Lagoon

This improvisational collage of porcelain elements explores the idea of the disappearing lake that gave its name to Vancouvers’ Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park.

It is full or empty?

Beginning with a large bowl form thrown on the potter’s wheel, then altered by stretching and pulling the form, adding elements of sliced and carved slabs and other thrown forms, I then created an encrustation of texture by slip tailing and stippling the porcelain which is accentuated by an airbrushed application of Golden Brown underglaze. Glazes used are a Glossy Titanium White , Turquoise and Bermuda Matt.
