Here the feminine principle, or the generative aspect of the psyche, struggles to remove "the coat of many colours", only to reveal another layer of pattern and colour carved into her skin. Through discernment and intention, she discards the persona and constructs a new identity as a strategy for interacting with the world.  Emerging from the primal ooze; clay, that chaotic muck engendered by the earth itself.

Blue Mountain expresses the idea of the struggle of the human spirit to create an expanded field that encompasses feelings of loss but resists the contraction of loss, like a mountain, deep and wide, that resists the passing storms, eroded, yet persevering thoughout time.

Form may be enhanced or camouflaged by directing the viewers’ senses in particular ways. A carved or textured surface ruptures the tactile planes of its structure without loss of integrity. To pierce or cut away sections of its body may transform its shape or allow simultaneity of perception in regarding the object. Colour and tone may also be used to confuse or define it further.
